MCP projects built at Heapify Global Community

These are 3 real MCP apps and servers built and deployed by student teams at the Heapify Global Community NitroStack × MCP To The Moon hackathon. Each project is a working agentic AI build on the Model Context Protocol, shipped on NitroStack. Open any project to watch the demo, read the write-up, and explore the source.

Flight Recovery MCP

When a flight is cancelled, the airline app tells you the flight is gone but not what else breaks. You check your hotel, your calendar and your notes yourself and work out the damage in your head. Flight Recovery MCP is an MCP server with four tools that an AI agent calls in order: 1. assess_disruption: what happened to the flight (status, cause, timing). 2. map_blast_radius: which commitments break (client dinner, hotel late check-in, morning meeting). 3. rank_alternates: scores replacement flights by priority (protect the meeting, earliest arrival, or lowest cost) and returns one recommendation. 4. plan_recovery: specific ordered actions for the recommended flight, such as moving the airport pickup, notifying the client, and asking the hotel to hold the room. The server makes the decision with fixed rules in code: for example, the earliest flight loses if a tight connection could cost you the meeting. The AI client only explains the result, so the answer is consistent each time. All data is synthetic fixtures from mock airline, commitment and transfer sources. Nothing is booked or sent, and every action is a proposal that needs the user's approval. In production, the mock sources would be swapped for a flight-status API, Google Calendar, a hotel partner API, and an airline rebooking API, while the tools and ranking logic stay the same. Stack: NitroStack (TypeScript), deployed on Render. Repo: https://github.com/dhonicore/flight-recovery-mcp

RepoAtlas

RepoAtlas is an MCP server that helps newcomers start contributing to an open-source project. Paste a public GitHub URL and your AI assistant gets a graph of the repo's code, history, people and issues. It uses that graph to walk you through the project in 8 stops, tell you which files to read first and why, and find open issues you can actually finish, with the files to touch and who to ask.

Dinesync

A Zomato-inspired group dinner planner that coordinates diets, allergies, budgets, calendars and travel. Handles fully booked restaurants, then books a table, splits the bill and sends personalized invites. All data and actions are mocked.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Heapify Global Community NitroStack hackathon?
The Heapify Global Community hackathon is a NitroStack × MCP To The Moon buildathon where student teams design, build, and deploy MCP (Model Context Protocol) apps and servers. Every project on this page is a real, submitted MCP application built by a student team and deployed on NitroStack — the full-stack platform for building and shipping agentic AI and MCP apps.
What are MCP apps and MCP servers?
MCP apps and MCP servers are applications built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — an open standard that lets AI agents securely connect to tools, data, and APIs. An MCP server exposes tools, resources, and prompts that any MCP-compatible AI agent can call, turning a large language model into an agentic AI system that can take real actions. NitroStack lets you build, deploy, and scale these MCP apps end to end.
How many projects were built at Heapify Global Community?
3 MCP projects were submitted at the Heapify Global Community hackathon. You can browse each one below, watch the demo, read the write-up, and open the source code and live MCP endpoint.
How can I build my own MCP app?
You can build your own MCP app on NitroStack (nitrostack.ai) — it provides the SDK, cloud deployment, and studio to go from idea to a deployed, agentic AI MCP server. Explore the docs at docs.nitrostack.ai and browse community builds on r/mcptothemoon.
