NitroStack · Compare

How NitroStack compares.

One page for each product teams look at before they build and host an MCP server. Each page says where NitroStack fits, and where the other product is the better choice.

Build the server

  • Official MCP SDK

The protocol library. You still assemble transport, auth, testing, and a host.

  • FastMCP

The Python framework most teams start with, plus Prefect’s hosted path.

  • Mastra

A TypeScript agent framework that can also speak MCP.

Turn an API into a server

  • Speakeasy

Generates a hosted MCP server from an OpenAPI document, and runs a gateway.

  • Stainless

Generates SDKs and an MCP server from an API specification.

  • Postman

The collection your API team already runs. MCP is an export of that collection.

Host the server

  • Cloudflare

Write a Worker, host it on their edge, and use the Code Mode they named.

  • Alpic

Git-push hosting for MCP servers, plus Skybridge for interactive apps.

  • Arcade

A Python SDK, a cloud deploy, and a gateway aimed at delegated login.

  • Vercel

The application host. An MCP route can sit beside the app.

  • Modal

Isolated compute for tools that run code, browsers, or terminals.

A catalog of other tools

  • Composio

A large catalog of other companies’ tools, with a gateway in front.

Related, and not a switch.

Anthropic published code execution with MCP. That is the pattern Code Mode follows. It is not a server you migrate off. The walkthrough of NitroStack’s version is on the Code Mode page.

Docker MCP Toolkit runs other people’s servers on a laptop, in a container. That is a local catalog, not a host for the server you are building.
