Why teams look at NitroStack
01
A connector is not a sandbox
NitroStackThe server calls your product and returns the result.
ModalThe tool may need an isolated machine.
02
The team writes the server in the language it has
NitroStackTypeScript or Python.
ModalYou bring the workload. They schedule the compute.
03
Customers connect to one server
NitroStackNitroCloud is that URL.
ModalModal is the compute behind a tool that needs it.

NitroStack and Modal, side by side.
This is who the row favors. It is not a benchmark, and it does not use their published numbers as if they were ours.

Honest limits
Where Modal is the better fit.
- The tool runs something you do not trustIf the agent’s code needs a browser, a shell, or a machine that must stay isolated, Modal is the fit. Their hosting guide draws that line: modal.com/resources/best-mcp-server-hosting-developer-tools-companies
03
Making the switch
- 01Keep Modal for the sandbox. Put the product’s MCP server on NitroStack.
- 02Scaffold the server with the NitroStack CLI, in TypeScript or Python.
- 03Try each tool in NitroStudio before it has a public URL.
- 04Deploy on NitroCloud, or send a POC request and we will tell you if it fits.
Questions
Before you move anything.
Is Code Mode a sandbox like Modal?
No. Code Mode runs a short script so the agent can call your tools and return one answer. It is not a place to run a browser or a terminal.
Is NitroStack open source?
The SDK, the CLI, and the widgets are open source. NitroStudio and NitroCloud are the products around that core. You can start locally without a credit card.
What if we are not sure it fits?
Send a POC request whether you need one or not. We will tell you if NitroStack is the right place for this server.
Run NitroStack next to what you have.
Sign up and try the server, or ask the team for a free POC. Keep the current setup until the new one is the one you want.
